Hiya everyone,

Trying to plan a weekend to Birmingham, I've only been there briefly before so have no idea what's good/not good in town.. (for a group and couples)

DATE: 12th-14th March
(for a group and couples)
~ Recommended Accommodations? - was originally thinking of simple travel lodge town centre somewhere would be default, but have a minibus to park or maybe a few cars so finding it difficult to find free parking with hotel..!
Obviously deals would be great! but not expecting much luck on that front.. but if I don't ask I'll never get..!

My other half is keen on some museums etc, any locals would recommend anything interesting to be done in brum?

I'll have a fiddle with Google in the mean time :)

Ah yes by the way we're actually going to an event at the NIA sooo.. maybe more local night-time recommendation activities :-D
The NIA is right in the town centre so you can go straight to the bars on broad street. Have a look at the hotels round there as they are all nice. You HAVE to have a curry whilst there. There is one that won 'best local restaurant' by Gordon Ramsey not to far from there (think about 15 min walk). (link If not there are lots of nice ones around like which used to be really nice. If you fancy a short drive go to balti triangle (link expect wipe clean tables but great food. If you want something other than curry let me know and i'll recommend something else. La Tasca is nearby and they always have offers.
In the day there are lots of museums. The main science museum is minutes away from Broad Street and free (link There is also the think tank which is supposed to be good but they charge (link

It all depends if you want to drive anywhere, cadbury world is local but a drive. What type of museum are you after or any other activities you all enjoy). Great shops around. I'll have a quick look at hotels and post agin in a minute. They all change their names so often

Novotel is nice

This is on the door step and may be cheaper

Nice but pricey

This is a good price and it seems really nice and prefect to where you want to go

I have always wanted to stop here...It is fab and is on the doorstep, very posh and the only thing which was higher than the birmingham wheel.
try getting rooms at the city inn car park right next to it, city inn on broad street full of all the pubs etc personally i would recommend going to brindley place nicer to drink only 2min walk from the hotel and not full of younger generation lol, just a short walk from your hotel you have the museum also, also as wookie mummy said go for a curry or even a balti at the balti triangle (we are famous for it). you could also go to cadbury world look on web for offers if she likes museums a place you could go is the blackcounty museum all about the old times how we lived etc or by the hippodrome you have the back to back houses nice bit of history - enjoy anyways
Thanks! will plan route around those places..! repped.

Im personally more into oriental type of cuisine (Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc) but if curry is a must we shall try there :) Any recommended clubbing places to go to? (or avoid?)

once we went to notts for a tournament, group of us fancied a night out and saw this club and had fairly big queue. So we though ahh must be good.. when we got to the door there were metal detectors machines set up and 4 body guards searching pretty much everyone..! thought hmm! maybe not!

P.s. define..... "younger generation"..? lol
How old are you?? I would agree to go Brindley Place as I prefer that at 35 but at 20 Broad street is probably better. To be honest they are next to each other and you probably wouldn't notice the difference. Black country museum is good but a good depends how far you want to go. Every club up there is good it depends what you are after? What music do you like? Would you rather just be in a bar til late or do you want full on clubbing til 6am?
well at 32 i feel old up broad street lol

try chung yings down by the arcadian they have 2 chung ying garden and chung yings, personally i am not a fan of the gardens but mmmmmmmm chung yings is the best cantonese ever i starve myself all day just for the ribs lol
