Decent 2.1 speaker system for PC?

Hi,

I'm after a new 2.1 speaker system for my computer. I currently have a Cambridge Soundworks thing which is fine, but the power button is annoyingly on the subwoofer, which is on the floor, and I'm a bit bored of having to keep struggling to reach it every time I want to turn them on or off. Another bonus would be if there was an accessible headphone socket; I rarely use headphones at the moment (very, very rarely) but the option would be nice to have anyway, to save me having to plug/unplug stuff into my PC.

- Looking to spend ~£30
- Not *too* fussed on sound quality, I'm not an audiophile but want something fairly decent.
- Volume and power buttons not on the sub, preferably on the speaker itself, or one of the wired remote thingys.
- Head phone socket on speaker/wired remote preferable.
- Looks nice :D

Cheers!

I know this may be a deviation from what you are looking for, but I'd like to make a suggestion. I've got a cable going from the audio out on my pc going into the aux input on my micro hifi so that the sound comes out of two regular speakers (located about 1ft either side of my monitor).
I find that the sound I get is very good because the treble and bass are not seperated from one another in the same was they are in a 2.1 set up.
If you've got a micro hifi or similar with an aux input, you could do the same. If you can, try it out before you buy a 2.1 system. Needless to say, the better the hifi and speakers, the better the sound.

Cheers for the recommendation, definitely a good idea, but unfortunately I don't have a micro hifi as I pretty much just use my PC for music.

They look ace, cheers gav - only problem is it seems you can't control the bass? That's not too much of a problem, but I dunno how loud that'd be if you're directly downstairs - bass seems to pierce the walls (ceiling) far more than treble!

I agree that this is a pretty decent 2.1 package; my mum has it and it rocks! Lots of bang for buck!

Yes you set the bass output on the back of the sub.

Was just very kindly given a £25 Amazon voucher for my birthday too, I think it's a sign :D
