Decent alternative to Screwfix?

Hi. I've already posted about the big price rises between the Spring and Summer catalogues (over 31% on my plumbing order!). Now they are charging an extra £6 delivery for 'remote areas', which seems to include the whole of Scotland. Needless to say they have lost a long time customer now. Does anyone know of a similar supplier they can recommend? Thanks

I don't think they are as big as screwfix... if they have any materials at all... they have tools...

There has been a huge increase in the price of copper worldwide and because of this all plumbing pipe and fittings plus electrical cable using copper has had to rise well above catalogue prices, its not just screwfix ;)

The guy who owned screwfix and sold it to Kingfisher group (B&Q) started another company just before he sold up. Give them a try.

Thanks for the replies. It's actually plastic push fit fixings I want so Screwfix can't use any copper price rises as an excuse:) The annoying thing is that they are still cheaper than elsewhere - it's the principle of charging extra for 'remote areas' that hurts - Royal Mail charge the same for delivery across the UK, but it is suprising how often I come across this for Aberdeenshire. I'll try Toolstation. Thanks again

Mike. Toolstation were brilliant, thanks - karma left. The whole order was about 25% cheaper than Screwfix, for exactly the same items. The minimum order is £40 for free delivery instead of £45 AND no 'remote area' charge of £6 for Aberdeenshire! Thanks again.

I don't know if Focus DIY do the same kind of things, but it's one that springs to my mind.
