Ok.. so as a student i need to think carefully about my finances and found you people maybe able to help me.

I had a laptop last year, it was so slow it took ages just to load internet explorer :(. So this year i've decided i am going to get a desktop pc.I've had a look around but cant really find anything. www.itcsales.com is very confusing and finding anything to fit is annoying me!! I did consider building my own.. if i can figure out how to do it (but could be more expensive)

See i am doing a media graphics degree so i need a system which will help me there and in other recreational student things to do.

Anyway to the minimum prefered specs:

Processor: AMD x2 4200 + (or intel dual core 3.00ghz +) AMD preferred but i am not bothered

Graphics: 256mb +.. not bothered about this really. Just needs to be able to cope with animations/video editing etc..

Memory: 1000mb ddr +

Dvd rewriter +/-

Hard drive - 100gb +

My house has wireless so a card or built in wireless would be handy but not essential.. a pretty decent sound system would not go a miss either due to my pc being my stereo replacement. Ooh yeah not bothered with a monitor, i have one. Its a bit of a beast so a cheap 17inch monitor would help,

Ok so the price? Well.. 800 max.

I also have a problem of finding a decent cheap wireless router.. one which wont cut out on us!!

Thankyou! :-D

Problem with dell is their customer service, i hear it is quite appauling sometimes..

But maybe i am being nit picky here! God aldi do computers? Whatever next!!
#10
I think Dell customer telephone service takes some stick. But haven't had to use their other services as yet :)

You could always extend the collect and return warranty for peace of mind. Although it's quite expensive.

Oh and you would need a wireless card fitted either before or after, or buy a wireless adaptor.
#11
I suppose so. I want to throughly look round before making my choice though. But its a case of do i buy now or wait

Well, as for the Dells, MikeT updates them each Thursday morning, as he's our Dell expert. Anyway, it's often good to weigh up all the options before you buy :)
