Save some luck for me - according to GPUBOSS, about on a par (3Dmark) with a GTX970

A good deal; I saw it but decided against it; the last 2nd hand gfx card I bought had been thrashed before returning; by the time I figured out the issue was damaged VRAM, and not my system, Amazon wouldnt have it back.

Amazon warehouse deals have a 12 month warranty, I would have chased this with them as it was faulty, all their items have a 30 day no quibble from their used stock too. Just for future ref.

GTX 970 is a lot more powerful than the r9 290. Coupled with gameworks there's a big difference. I would say this price is about right for a 2nd hand r9 290. Very hot and greedy cards with driver issues.

Just double check it before you install it.I ordered a 1080 from Amazon Warehouse and was sent a 980ti in a 1080 box. It was the MSI version so looked almost identical (just missing RGB lighting). Luckily I noticed and sent it back for a full refund.

You may be getting it confused with a different card, there's only about 5-7% between them.

Bloody hell, someone got away with dareing bate and switch with Amazon on that, and they obviously didn't look that hard before sending it out again.

Between an r9 290 and a GTX 970 ? I own the r9 290 and it's only recently that the drivers have become somewhat stable. Massive issues with the previous generation of games running nivida gameworks. Most of my games don't use directx12 and I'm not rocking with Ashes of the Singularity.

Also 5-7% difference of what exactly ?

I looked into water cooling my r9 290 using the reference blower for the vrms and memory and a AIO for the GPU die. Would of cost around £70 but it didn't merit the investment. This card cooks hot and it dumps the heat into the case so you need very good airflow.

It's a good price for £75 but just not a good card unless you have good airflow and a good PSU.

Yep, I wasn't happy at all. The card was £469 (with the 20% discount promo) which was a bargain for a 1080. I was gutted having to return it but luckily got an Inno 3D one from eBay for a similar price.

I was pretty appalled at their lack of quality control. The serial was even scratched off!! Apparently not all items on Warehouse are directly Amazon, some are third part sellers that are fulfilled by Amazon... At least that is what they told me.
