All ways getting newsletters from Dell but dont know anyone who has ever bought one.

I have 2, one for me and one for my son. I'd wait until MikeT posts his deals (usually on a Thursday) and then go to Dell through the quidco site (info on quidco can be found in the misc section) for more money back.

If you phone Dell a day or two after you make your order and tell them you've had second thoughts they can offer you up to £40 off your order.

My Dell with a TL56 AMD, 2GB Ram, 120GB HD and Vista Business with a free printer/scanner cost me £359 with quidco and the £40 dell discount for not cancelling.

Friend bought one through dell and is really happy wirth it. Word of advice if you phone them up you may be able to haggle and get some money off. I saved 20% off our home PC by doing this. Hope it helps:)

 thank you for your help. will have to look out for Miket's post. will also ring them to haggle on price, getting good at haggling having spent last few holidays in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai!

I tried haggling with them a few times and got nothing. I found it much easier to phone and tell them I was considering cancellation.
You might have better luck, remember on a cheap laptop their ability to offer anything is severely limited, you can often get them to offer more on a desktop or more expensive laptop.
