I realise megapixels are not everything and do not make a camera great. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Thank you.:)

Depends what you want the camera for.

If its just for your normal average day to day photos, holidays etc then Comet have the Sony DSC500 6mp camera on offer at the moment at £79.99.

Good price, good brand, good amount of megapixels and change from your £100.

Worth a look

It would be pretty much day to day photos and holidays etc. Nothing too spectacular!

As its a Sony, doesnt this mean you have to pay for expensive Sony memory cards?

Plus, it takes AA batteries rather than a lithium one, would this mean a short battery life??

With virtually all digital cameras you will have to purchase aa additional memory card, these are coming down in price by the day.

Sony cameras are usually supplied with rechargable batteries and a charger.

Put Sony DSC500 into google and see what it comes up with to check the spec further.

i know you said sub £100 but i ordered one last week from pc world, it was the dual lens kodak v610, retailing most places for about £250-£350, check pc world and it is £150. Also use quidco. Its got 10x optical zoom. I received it yesterday and am very impressed with it. Total works out to approx £141 after quidco and inc free delivery

I checked out the £68 deal - looks fairly decent.

The Kodak camera looks absolutely amazing! Not sure whether to pay that much though but it is very tempting!

MANJ_007 - what is the battery life like on this camera?

i charged it up last night, bought it to work with me today (sad isnt it but its always quiet on a Tuesday) to have a play around and figure out stuff on it and still the indicator for low battery hasnt come on yet, ive been switchin it on and off all day, going throught the menus, taking photos etc, so id imagine it is pretty good.

ive switched my digital zoom off because the 10x optical zoom is amazing!!
