check for the best prices .Best advice i can give is go to any shop and hold them all and get the one that feels right for you.I have a canon 450d and love it not sure what the 550d is like but my friend has a nikon d90 and loves it as it can do hd movies. To be honest i think if you go for canon, nikon, olympus or sony there wont be to much difference just check what features you need the most, but believe sony have the motor in the lens so they may be more expensive but can use older minolta lens's which may compensate.

why not, if you are just venturing into DSLR, try a few out and then go second hand? loads of photographers upgrade and sell their old gear on and in general i expect they take very good care of their kit. that way you would either get a lot more for your outlay or you'd save a fair bit of cash?
If you do go down the second hand route i will be selling my canon 450d soon as i now have a new hobby and mrs told me to choose. It is in like new condition and only used it on 1 holiday and 1 night before my daughter went to the prom.I have 3 lens's,filters, extra canon battery, lowpro bags x2 etc so let me know if your interested.
I recently tested a 550D in low light conditions, photographing the Northern Lights. I do like Canon camera's and the 550D performed really well. You also need to consider what lenses you might want as well.

As I intend to leave my camera out overnight doing time lapse Aurora / Star Trail photography I went for the 7D with it's weatherproof body.
Post 2 gives a good price search checker. You can find a 550D for £525 or so.
Hi there I am selling my DSLR a Nikon D60 This camera and lens is in very good condition having been looked after very carefully. It is two year old and comes from a smoke free home.
Comes in orginal box with charger, manual etc.

Including a 2Gb memory card new, 3 lens filters in a secure case and a Lowepro camera bag. Also a great D60 camera book. Which helps you get even more out of the camera.

This is a great introduction to a digital SLR camera as it has everything you require and more.

Looking for £325 + P&P or v best offer
Kind regards
