I was wondering whether anyone knows of some good companies for diy stuff
eg, Doors, frames, locks, equipment and cement etc

as I am going to start some renovation work

your best bet for that sort stuff would be your local builders merchant. Most now welcome the public and can give advice on suitable products etc
If your gonna be doing a lot of work, ask can you set up an account at your local builders merchant. When I was getting my garage built, I organised all the materials myself. Managed to get trade prices on everything and free delivery each time.
Screwfix ([url][/url]) is very competitive for hardware, tools etc. However builders materials such as sand, cement then Jewsons are better...

Screwfix used to be just mail order but they are setting up depots around the country where you can pick up items
