Do Aerial boosters work?

My parents TV has lost channel 3/4/5 and a few others since the retune.
Weird thing is, the other digital box in the front room, which is the same model / same software update, works fine.
Im thinking its losing that much signal, travelling to the back room tv.

So was wondering if anyones seen an aerial booster that might help? either to plug into the tv or into the aerial connection on the roof?

thanks

I have freeview box and also a tv with freeview built in. The box works fine since the retune but the tv with it built in has gone to pot. the channels are in no order at all. Seems to be channel 1,4,5 then itv etc can be found elsewhere at channel 72 etc. Tried to change the order of the channels but not workign so far. Don't know whether an aerial booster would help this problem. Try searching the EPG to see if the lost channels are just further down the listing.

you just need to auto tune the set cos the channel frequencies have changed

yeah, have tried retuning several times. thought they might be listed elsewhere, but cant see them.
i scanned their box, on the aerial socket in the front room - it found all the channels no problem.
when i put it back into the front room, the channels were still there, but it just said no signal.. thats why i thought a booster might do something..

Maybe buy one from Argos, then you can try it and take it back if it doesn't work. (within 30 days as long as packaging is undamaged)

wait for better weather then get a new aerial on the roof. cost me 40 quid last year and its better than any booster.

blimey, thats a cheap aerial.. how did you get it done?

we were quoted £100 to put in a new aerial - relay all the cables

My televisions will not tune in without the booster on it. The boosters in argos do not last for long, but keep your receipt cause they are guaranteed for a year. We went through three in less than two years, and got a refund at the end. Had a new aerial fitted nearly three years ago, he also put an booster on aerial have had no problems since.
