I know you said somewhere where there were log cabins but have you considered camping? If so I have just found this on one of the sites

We visited a campsite in the Lakes earlier in the year called Bowkerstade Farm in the Grizedale forest area. The campsite owner (a really nice chap) had a wood pile and encouraged fires

I don't know anything about this site and haven't looked at it myself as yet, you never know they may do log cabins?? Going to google it myself now!!

Not sure you will get (for your price) what you are after

We stayed here http://www.longlandsfarmcottage.co.uk/

Great and fairly isolated - but it's next door to the owners - so no 2am partying in the farm grounds

Thanks will check it out, we can move on the price a bit if needed (£~450), only going to be 3 of us so won't really be that loud, just more looking for a chill out week.

It's a nice decent sized cottage

Watch yer head though - they must've been midgets in the 1600s

There is already a BBQ there to use - loads of nice walks and not far by car from loads of places

Local shop (Spar) about 3 mins by car. Take yer own food/booze etc - "Booths" (nearest supermarket) costs a bomb - but there is CoOp in Grange Over Sands and an Asda in Kendal - but we never found it

Nice pubs in Cartmel BTW

We have stayed quite a few times at White Cross Bay but they don't do open fires and I'm not sure on the BBQ's either but if it's in low season then it might be the right price range? They do statics and log cabins. Also they have two other sister sites called Lime fit park and Fallbarrow park. Worth checking out. Also there is a site called Skelwith fold (don't know if I have spelt that correctly?) we drove round this site and it looked really lovely and quiet. Hope this helps?
