Stores can't yet take pre-orders as the console doesn't yet have regulatory approval (e.g., with the FCC).

Thinking this will be in high demand so best to preorder the minute its available.

if you go on social media you just hear people moaning because it's not a playstation.. it's so boring, I can't wait to get this!

Well, they're right. The Xbox One X is a glorified Xbox One with a bunch of boring looking exclusive games. Top that off with most of their "exclusive" games actually being timed exclusives and there really isn't much of a reason to invest other than 4K.

You can go into GAME and register your interest, then they'll send you any info regarding the One X

To be honest Microsoft looks like they don't have an idea what to do...

Let be honest, backward compatibility original Xbox games?
Exclusively on Xbox... and Windows 10?
or timely exclusive?

They showed only one game that I'm interested in - Ori, nothing more... especially most games are group based...

And yes, I own an Xbox One but let be honest, there is nothing to be a system seller. Starting price £449, at this time PS4 Pro will be available probably for £300 RRP, so in reality you will buy if for around £250... with real exclusive games.

Well, we'll see, but now - you buy most powerful console ever made to play Minecraft and Indie games?

If it would have Elite controller and default then price would be ok, but right now I thing it's a bit overpriced.

I can't see this being in such high demand that it'll sell out on release .... it's too expansive and has a lack of 4k content. Not saying it won't be a hit but it's too niche to at the moment

no good having the most powerful console ever with hardly any exclusive's. (not timed or indie).
4k minecraft is hardly going to shift any units is it.

I'm going to get one. I agree with most of the comments here but I am still going to get one. I want the best one available - I don't do the same with all products within my price range (phones for example - given up on iPhones) but i will sell my One S shortly before release of XBOX and stump up the extra.

I agree with you. The press conference was polished but essentially yes, it's just a beefed up Xbox One S and all the games (and there were alot shown werent there?) did not look like they will make use of all its' muscle but I liked the look of it and I will get one.

So from what I can work out from reading interview etc.:

1. FCC Approval Pending so no pre-orders until thats done - likely they haven't submitted to FCC yet to minimise any leaks, just look at what happened last year with the S!

2. During an interview on IGN, when asked on preorders they said this week is about the games, announcing the hardware, date and price. But then he said "We have a really cool preorder program to announce soon".

Maybe I am reading too much into that, but does that maybe mean Xbox One owner might get some upgrade progam? Being a Day One owner I would love to see my loyalty rewarded in some way. Thoughts?

Finally, going to be last night I was disappointed in the show, but on reflection I think its just information overload! 42 Games were shown off, 50% some form of exclusive. There was a lot on display. Cuphead, Ori 2, State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, Forza 7, Sea of thieves. Whilst I think the games are going to be limited by the need to have compatibility with the Xbox One and S, the visual looked stunning in 4K!

They have previously said they would work with retailers to instigate an upgrade program. So hopefully this means you will get a higher trade in value for xb1s when trading against xb1x.

That said, I'd still expect any upgrade route to cost in the region of £250-£300+, given that an Xbox One S bundle can be had for £200 at this point.

Yeah I'd say that price range is a good estimate. Hopefully they won't do the usual 'with 5 games' nonsense though.
