Im after a quality dolls house for a young girl

Ideally an old fashioned one rather than a plastic modern type one.

Anybody able to recommend a good online retailer

Agree with above. If you are prepared to put a bit of work into it then this is ideal. It's the same as my daughters and as it's raw wood you can paint it. I painted it pink with white windows and door frames, a glossy red door with silver handle and chimney pots and then bought some tile paper from ebay which I glued on to the roof and I have to say it looks fab and far more expensive than the plain wood ones. I also bought, from ebay, some flower transfers that I stuck around the doorway.

Takes a bit of doing but quite cheap as, apart from the pink paint, all the others were done either with test pots or leftover white gloss that everyone seems to have in their garage. A heck of a lot cheaper than buying a "proper" dolls house, and I'm not all that artistic either, just need to be a neat painter.

Was after one for my little one and decided on Le Toy Van make after seeing the same make in Yesteryears in Conwy - believe it or not! Lovely toyshop but I held my fire knowing you can get everything cheaper online so noted the make ;-). Eventually found the following:

http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/le-toy-van-sophies-dolls-house/

Equivalent is 79.99 in amazon. Package came within 3days and it is excellent quality. Depends on little one's age but I would say ideal for <8year olds. 10% off furniture too. We eventually settled for the more expensive furniture rather than the starter pack (but did notice ELC are doing similar furniture for £10 a room which is pretty decent). Lots of 20% codes on offer for ELC so worth noting that also.
