I usually find wicks is the cheapest place unless you know anyone who can get them for you at wholesale.

You probably already know this.

when you buy them -put them on their edge and look down them checking to make sure they are not twisted or warped. Cheaper ones tend to be a bit warped sometimes. B & Q sometimes have some good prices. Measure the doorways - they're not always a standard size..

you finished the floor already!!!

than you both. and i didnt already know that, i have never replaced a door in my life lol. can you get them delivered? they wont fit in the car.

Wickes definitely deliver (I've had a garage door delivered) but there is a charge which varies depending on how far you are from the store. It may be free if you spend over a certain amount.....

If you don't already have one get a decent diy book. The Readers Digest one is fantastic and has saved me loads of money - getting a bit dated now though. There is a Collins DIY book which is okay and I think B & Q do one now which is alright.

There is a wickes project leaflet which might help
http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wickes/resources/images/gil/36.pdf

there is also a guide on Focus website
http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/stry/diy24&bklist=pcat,3,advicecentrecategory,diycategory

hanging a door can be a bit fiddely and will probably take longer than you think...

Don't worry about that, just have them hanging 5ft out your car boot and get the kids to sit on them in the back. That's what they do around here. :w00t: (and if they moan, just break hard!! :whistling: )

no worries - I've had rep from you recently about the flooring so its unlikely you'll be able to rep me for a little while.

I do a lot of diy - all of which has been learned from books or guides. Some of it is less than perfect but the way I look at it is I would rather have an average job done by me than wait months/weeks and pay for an average job to be done by someone else!!

and it gives you a good excuse to build up your power tool collection

There are always interior (and exterior) doors available at our local recycling centre and they only charge about £3 to £5 each.
Might be worth a try if you have one near you. :)

As with your floor, interior doors are diffrent height widths and thickness.
I would advise you check the B&Q site to get a good idea of the diffrent doors also thier delivery can be quite cheap and if you are in luck a sale.
Your main cost will be the hardware unless you are using the hardware from existing doors. Again B&Q and the like sell sets of four or five in a box.
Unlike your floor unless you have had experience hanging doors I would get a pal to hang them or pay a joiner.
If you do decide to hang them use the existing door as a template for hinges, handles and locks and get advice from someone with experience Being a joiner I know how to cope with twisted or warped frames. I am not saying you cannot do it but it is not as easy as it looks and especially cutting doors to size

Used to work in B&Q building. They had an offer on there in November were if you buy 4 doors ya get 1 free on a selected range. The Inexpensive £20 white internal door was included I think... check it out :)

Bring an old relative on a wednesday and get an extra 10% too and all that jazz :D
