I buy all my blank media from http://ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/Dual-Layer-DVD+R-c-310.html

You'll have to add postage on top. Mine have always arrived next day.
I've considered using SVP recently too as they have HUKD member discounts. http://svp.co.uk/hukd.php

which ones are good though?!
#3
i have used svp they are very good just wanted to try 1 or 2 before i go and buy lots and they dont work

My preference is for Datawrite Titanium. Wouldn't really like to advise on media for other people's drives though. I Googled your drive and Titanium discs but only really found snobbery about using Verbatims and Taiyo Yudens.

Datawrite Titanium. what speed and are they good for the xbox 360
#6
Im not sure you can do any good with your sony dvd writer
but if you use a pioneer writer you can also use the Ritek JPN dye for the 360 cost around 70p each or less

http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=2026, i used these for my 360. there the best replacement for pricey verbs. I burnt 25 and not 1 coaster, cheap aswell.

Hi.

There you go mate.

I've been on the look out for DUAL LAYER Myself.

Best price your get on the net, + no over priced delivery charge here, shame
others don't take note.

verbs are the best by far+they are probably the only discs that will work on every 360.
and yes for best results you will need a pioneer 111d.
this is not snobbery, but tried and tested methods that get the best results:thumbsup:

my pioneer just died on me.. and pioneer 111d is replaced by 112d
is the later better?
I can vouch for the infinity legend lloydy recommend its using the RICOHJPND01
what Im using now and no coasters yet

but better get the Aone Dual Layer 8x Full Face Printable (10Tub) from the link ascot gave. Aone use the same dye and should work the same
£7 for a 10 tub so cheaper alternative
#11
i have used aone discs and all i can say is"absolute cr*p"but this is my personal opinion and no one elses.
pioneer 112d should do the job just fine.

have a browse around this site,it contains all the info you could want:thumbsup: http://xbox-scene.com/

I had mixed results with the Infiniti disks - bought two packs - had no problems with the first pack, but had very little success with the second (perhaps I was unlucky and had some from a bad batch). Using Verbatim on the 111d now - had no coasters yet (touch wood).

Hi Mate

I have one of these, very fast.

Also this is the best deal on the net if you are thinking of getting one.

http://www.europc.co.uk/pages/ProductPage.aspx?PID=79784

Also this is a very good drive NEC AD-7170A-01 18x DVD±RW/RAM Writer
NEC is the best make you can get i think

Bought one of these, Liteon are a good company, and £17.99 delivered for a 16x drive
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3271383/LiteOn_DW1670_16X_Internal_DVD_RW_Drive/Product.html

Your sony drive, what model is it?
#17
depending which drive your 360 has you will get mixed results, some combinations of dvd-rw and certain dual layer discs will work some wont.
for 100% compatability for all 360's is to use verbs with pioneer-rw.
these are tried and tested and have yielded the best results.

i have a sony dvd rw-q28a its a bit old but i have recently bought a samsung sh162 so i may have 2 update my firmware i have used
ridisc, infiniti, and also used other discs on my sony writer ie datawrite they seem to work but tuff disc failed badly
#19
i think sony apparently are made by liteons

I have an NEC 3500-AG...wondered what media (besides Verbatim of course) would be suitable. I have tried the Aone's recommended earlier but all 10 failed. Just trying to save a few quid!
Cheers, Roo

I too have this drive and it is superb. I use Datawrite Titanium 16X DVD-R or Verbatim Taiyo Yuden 16X DVD-R from SVP and rarely get a coaster. About £5.99 for 25 disks so you can't go wrong really. Cheaper disks work just as well (e.g. Datasafe 16X) but for backups, I wouldnt recommend them.
#23
hi bought the 112 drive any disks recommended for this ie dual layer for xbox36+0 backups!
#24
Sorry for resurrecting the thread but just browsing through and wondered how one could tell if my burner was capable of working with DL Media? I have an NEC DVD+-RW Drive on a Dell Dimension PC. Any help is appreciated.

Hi rodaie

Sorry it's a bit late mate!

I have the new Pioneer DVR-115DBK 20x DVD+/-R/RW Dual Layer

http://www.saverstore.com/productinfo/Product.aspx?product_id=20018343&rstrat=1

It's Very Fast, and you also get a good burn at 16x as you would at 8x

And i think this is still the cheapest web-site to buy from + shipping is about £3.00
