DVD Player with USB

I'm after a new DVD player. It doesn't need to record. A high priority is the ability to play DivX through a USB port. Upscaling would be nice but not a necessity.
Any recommendations? Thanks!

Have a look at the Sumvision Phoenix. It's only a tiny little thing but it upscales and plays divx and xvid and has HDMI. I bought an 8gb sd card and usb adaptor from ebay for about £11 and it plays them fine. Takes a little time to read via usb but once it starts its fine. They are about £30-ish. Google it for more info.
Hope this helps

It would be a common courtesy, if you post a request for advice and receive it, to at least acknowledge those that tried to help.

Thanks for the advice, and recommendation. Having said that, I don't believe that a response from an OP is needed to every reply in a thread.
If the thread was a week or two old, and had not received thanks, then you would have a point. However, you posted your comment when the thread was only just over a day old - don't you think you're jumping the gun a little with your cricism?

Not at all. After your post you were a regular visitor to the site. The fact that you did not appear to bother to check for replies (or if you did even a simple 'thx' would have sufficed) suggested that we had wasted our time trying to help you.
I mean, how hard is it to type 'thx'?
In fact it's not that I want to bask in your thanks, It's just pleasing to think you have been of assistance to somebody.

OK, I didn't mean to cause offence - I just generally find it easier to do a group 'thanks' rather than make multiple posts amounting to the same thing.

Indeed, your post was very useful. I was asking on behalf of a friend, and I have recommended he buy the one that you pointed out, it seems to get good reviews. Thanks!

I notice from the blurb that is says:

"Added features of the Phoenix player includes a built-in SD/MS/MMC memory card slot, meaning you can display pictures (not video) stored on your card straight onto your TV via the Phoenix. It also houses a USB2.0 slot so you can transfer and display image files from stored on a USB pen drive onto your TV. "

Looks like it can only play pictures thru USB and not video, although if you've tried it I guess it does?

Im the same dont worry, people have told me off for being that way,

Its easier than replying to every post "thanks" which is a bit redundant in my eys.
