My stepdaughter is applying for her provisional driving license having just turned 17, the problem is she needs to provide proof of identity and I don't know what I can send.
The documents they accept are:
You can use a UK birth, adoption or naturalisation certificate, but you must send it with one of the following:
National Insurance card or a letter from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) showing your National Insurance number:
(They don't issue cards any more and why would the DWP send her a letter?)
photocopy of the front page of a benefits book or an original benefits claim letter
(She is not on any benefits)
P45, P60 or pay slip
(She is doing an apprenticeship so doesn't get these)
marriage certificate or divorce papers (decree nisi or absolute)
(Obviously she is not married or divorced)
a gender recognition certificate
(I'm not even sure what this is but I can guess and she doesn't have/need one!)
college or university union card, education certificate or PASS proof of age card (issued after June 2014)
(She is not at college or university and doesn't have a proof of age card)
So what does she send? Only thing I can think of is her GCSE certificate, does that count?
