Sold a large item for pickup only

The winner is from canada so sent him a message to say does he know thats its a pick up only item from the UK and he didnt reply.

I opened a case after a few days and still no response

I have someone else wanting to buy so is it possible for me to just cancel the whole transaction?

I dont want to to sell it to someone else and then the original buyer pay for the item.

Thanks

yes open a case with eBay to cancel the transaction and send second chance to the other buyer

Sell to the other person and just open a non-payment case. If they pay by PayPal, give eBay a ring and they should cancel for you.

I have opened a non payment case where do I go from here to cancel?

You have to wait for the buyer to agree to cancellation. If they don't, you can manually force cancellation 7 days after opening the case. If I were you, I would message the other interested party and ask them to pay cash on collection, that way you avoid fees and avoid a lost transaction as the Canadian idiot will likely ignore the request to cancel.

Thats the problem I have, if i sell it to someone else and then the canadian guy pops up and pays for it, then what do I do?

Slim chance he will.

Contact the other interested buyer and explain the situation. If he's willing to wait a few days for you to ring customer service and sort it out then you should be alright.

i doubt it would work in canada as i think they are 110v. if the buyer doesnt pay which i doubt he or she will then just use the unpaid case. if they where genuine buyers then i could see them replying to the messages.

Maybe the buyer originally registered in Canada but now lives over here ?

It is not 7 days, once you open a case the buyer has 72 hours to pay, if not then you can close the case and claim back your fees.

Can you not wait the 3 days? How long has it been already since the payment? Surely the new interested party can wait 3 days for things to go through the system in the correct manner

Then again I think it may be 5 days, I think you have to give them 2 days to pay, then you can open a case and the case has to be open for 72 hours before you can close it. (I think, it is certainly close to those figures).

Just sell it to the second buyer cash on collection, if the first buyer pays just refund him and tell him you dropped it. It's not great but it's been done to me and others a few times.
