Hoping you can help - sorry for the essay (LOL)
My Housemate recently acquired a tip-top leather bag from eBay, he paid £55 for it but the seller assured him it would have cost him at least £190 if he was a chump and bought it from an 'authorised' retailer and he was getting a very very good price. He was very happy with it but unfortunately the clasp on the front fell off after just 2 weeks....... :-( ....... :'-(....... Now, he was coping with this and was managing ok until the cleaner came. This is where the all the problems started. You see when he returned home in the evening after the cleaner had been the clasp was no longer there!?!? We looked and looked and it was nowhere to be found. As you can imagine he was very upset. I won't go into the details but think biggest loser USA tears and incredible hulk rage. Now we've all done some digging and some expert analysis and theres only one common denominator in this whole mess - the cleaner. Now we Intergrated her but she wouldn't crack. She's a real tough cookie you see. So - what i want to know is as he bought it from Ebay can i ask the Ebay legal team to help us get justice for my housemate? He's really been troubled by this and its causing all sorts of mad beef with his peeps. As he quite righly says 'clasps don't come from nowhere and are clearly integral to something' (gospel pray hands emoji). Will Ebay help put this crook behind bars before she ruins anyone elses life? We're looking for a solid criminal conviction, we will go to the police but wanted to make sure we are covered legally by Ebay first? We are not unreasonable and need to keep some perspective, no-one's died after all! So we're not looking serious jail time just a few weeks or month.
Can you please advise what our options are here?
