I recently bought an EE 12 month SIM only contract with 2GB data and voice/text unlimited allowance. I am very happy with the 4G Speed, and have no complaints.

The issue is with my data allowance, which doesn't seem to be reducing for the last few days.

For the first 10 days I could see on the my EE app, that my usage was being reflected everyday.
I tthen ported my old number from another network earlier this week, since then my allowance has gone back up to 2GB and doesn't seem to reduce at all, how much ever i download.

I am happy, cause I feel i am now getting everything unlimited for a 2GB allowance, but I also don't want to be sent a bill at the end of the month for using 4 times the data allowance.

Any comments?

Or text 'Bundle' to 150.

Sounds like the port has reset the counters and then they've 'stuck'. The guys on 150 should be able to sort it out (it is just the counters that stuck, the billing platform runs on different system and will still be counting correctly).

Contact customer service on 150 or go online on your ee account to see the details and remaining allowance.

I dont want to contact customer service, as they will posssibly find an issue with their billing system, and if there is one I wont get free download like forever.

My EE Online shows exactly the same as what the app shows, i.e. the allowance doesn't reduce at all, even though my phone tells me that I have used almost 600mb over last 3 days.

the website showing inaccurate usage will not prevent you getting billed so you can call them to get this looked into our you use your phone to tell you roughly how much data you have used.

Careful because chances are they'll still charge you if you go over and it won't be cheap.

Your 2gb data is capped when you hit 80 percent it will trigger a text to be sent to you explaining this once you reach a 100 percent it will stop and give you the option to buy more data. The reason why I think your app is not updating is because of the number change in order to fix this you would need to dial 150 and get them to reset it for you

Hopefully it's the same with EE but with t-mobile you can text 'AL' and you'll receive a text from them outlining what data, mins and texts you've used this current billing month. Hope it helps.

@msjames thank you, that's really good to know that the usage is capped, and that I will get a text at 80% usage allowance, just like how it used to be on giffgaff.
So, if I don't get a text message, it means that EE's systems are flawed at least for the first month after the porting goes through.
Let me try out more downloads towards the last few days of my current bill cycle. And I will report back here on the Boxing day, if I found the best gift this Christmas :)

You cannot go over your data allowance on EE
