Have obtained a couple of quotes from local travel agents for cruises in egypt in feb 2010 (departing feb 8th) for 14 days
first quote from local agent with a 5% discount i get for working in same outlet centre is as follows.
operator : libra
depature 02/08/2010 gatwick 14 nights destination luxor
starting on domina crusie ship for seven nights one night in sonesta hotel and then 4 nights to finish in the hilton at sharmal el sheikh. full board on cruise b + b at sonesta and half board at hilton hotel. total charge £2018.00 through co-op travel with my 5% discount its roughly £1917.
just rang up libra direct who are offering the same package with a better hotel in sharma for £1760 . however they wouldnt send any details and gave it the classic its todays price only.
Guess the question is, is there any advantage going through co-op as opposed to going direct? obviously the discrepancy in prices is the commision at co-ops end?
any views appreciated as we havent really booked anything this detailed before
thanks a lot
