Hi guys, really need some help with Egypt, we always go Turkey but as we are going end of october need somewhere hotter so Egypt seems the best place to go. Ive looked at loads of places and OTB looks a good holiday site but i keep reading the same reviews about tummy sickness, really need help here. Im looking for a good 4-5 star hotel on the beach or next to it for a family of 4, 2 kids, 2 adults. Has anyone got any good experience of Egypt, ive looked at sharm el shiekh, looks lovely, when i get a good hotel up i research it and the n get lots of bad reviews, like it was more of a 3 star and there was loads of people falling with tummy sickness, any info woulod be kindly appreciated thankyou

I have done a cruise with Cruise Egypt along the Nile for 7 days and the 7 in 5 star hotel in Luxor. Very well priced and a great activity week the Cruise , however, we did all get the trots and as far as I know everyone else did. Its the heat and good food, drink etc it doesn't go
I went to the Grand Azure in sharm about 3 years ago, it was brand new then. There were slides and entertainment for the children, around 6 different resturants to choose from including Italian and Oriental as well as the local foods. I found the service to be excellent. It has a nice beach with shallow water. It is about 20 minutes from the main town, but they provide a free shuttle if you require it, and it is a large hotel, although it has 3 seperate areas / pools so you dont feel it is crowded
Ive been 11 times and have had te trots 9 times, until recently. I have tried everything to avoid and I reckon the only way to avoid it is to take the hand cleaning gel and wash your hands after touching any money.
Egyptians eat with one hand and wash their butts with the other. They are very poor and their hygeine is shocking
Eat in the hotel if you can or somewhere like the hard rock cafe in sharm if you can, somewhere that has a high turnover of food.

As for the hotels, check tripadvisor for places like the intercontinental and get a feel for the good 5 stars

Try page 216 on itv teletext fo some great deals
Hi, have been to Egypt dozens of times and have visited Taba, Hughada and Sharm el Sheikh. The latter being the best, especially for a first time visit. In my opinion the best hotel to try would be one with a heated swimming pool for a December holiday. We really like the Sharming Inn but lately the reviews are mixed. As regards an upset tummy we have never had any problem with this but people recommend Antinal (costs around 50p in local chemist) and they also do this brand suitable for young children. For a larger 5 star hotel try Rehana Beach Resort in Nabq Bay area, this was very nice when we went in May and they do have a heated pool. Happy hunting.
Hi again, sorry just noticed you're going in October and not December as I said. This would mean that you probably may not need a heated pool as it's still quite hot even at night. We are trying the Albatros Aqu Blu for our next holiday in Sharm in January this has a big waterpark the entry to which is free. this is an all inclusive resort with an animation programme which would be ideal for a family holiday. It has had some quite reasonable reviews.
Hi, My in-laws went to the Grand Azure in Sharm last year. They loved it and neither of them had any problems with stomach aches. The only advice I was given was to stay away from their salads as they are washed in the local tap water which is the thing that gives most people upset stomachs. We can't handle the drastic changes in water.
My husband has also been previous and say Sharm is the best place to go for the first time and its really good. Wasn't keen on the nile cruise though.
