Hey got a flight booked on Emirates Dubai flight jus wondering If should sit upper or lower deck it's one if the bug airbus planes.

My first time flying on one of them, but my only doubt is that i'm thinking the upper deck will be let of the plane last so the que @ immigration will be long.

Anyone shed any light on this for me pls?

Surely you'll be allocated a seat and won't get to choose?

You have the option to choose ur seat with Emirates. I've flew with them a few times & you can check in on line and book ur seat.

firstly, as far as i am aware only first and business class are on upper deck. so unless you are first class or business class passenger.
secondly you can choose your seats in advance but recently Emirates have started charging for pre booking you seats.

Yep they do charge but 48 hours before ur flight when online check in opens they give you complimentary seat booking.

So when I choose seat option it's giving me the choice of booking upper or lower deck, so it's not jus for first or business class.

Also I looked on utube ders a few videos showing u around economy class on the upper deck, as I thought it was jus business/first class also.

When i flew last year to NY on a virgin double decker i was upstairs and i wasn't in first class or business even though it wasn't too bad as in the section i was in there was a block of 50 seats but there was only 12 of us so we each had a row each

Thanks will do.

Seems like ur flight wasn't 2 busy.

Where let of the air craft later then the lower deck or pretty much the same time?

Upper is only for business and first class.

But front of plane on lower deck is best.

Hmm to be honest i cant remember all i can though it was a glitch flight and a person who i was chatting to on the bus from JFK was downstairs on the plane he had(well his business) paid £700 return whereas i only had paid just over £200

I have two A380 flights booked from Manchester. The outbound only offered lower deck and is a 3 4 3 configuration. The inbound I was able to select the upper deck with a 2 4 2 configuration and chose a window and aisle 2.
#16
the 2 class a380's have upper deck economy class with business class behind
#17
When i flew with them the upper was first and business only, they may have changed. Upper deck has their own exit . If i remember correctly there about 4 exits on the lower deck . Its now not a case of wanting to turn left on entry, but wanting to go up

Just to add the 2 class has economy and business class and no first class...If you book upper deck at the back and if there is room in business class you will be offered to move....so you might find the upper deck rear is full....due to freebie offered by Emirates.

did the same flight in January. Best to sit upstairs because they get let out first!

Several rows of Economy seats upstairs.

Your meal will probably be served last as well ;)
Joke aside, if you haven't sat at top then do it because not all airlines have the facilities

But front of plane on lower deck is best.

Some of the new planes do not have a First class upstairs with that space being used for Economy. The upper deck is less cramped with a 2-4-2 arrangement compared to the 3-4-3 downstairs. It also has bigger toilets. Avoid the first two rows as there are no windows. On the other hand, it can be claustrophobic as you can't go downstairs or back towards Business class if you want to stretch your legs.
