Employer considering buying out my contracted bonus

I have a contracted bonus, which over the years has been on average about 10% of my basic salary per annum. Does anyone have any previous experience of this, and know how much to accept if they offer to buy it out of my contract? Recently they mentioned this is an option they are considering - and I want to make sure they don't try to shaft me if they do!

not sure they'd go for 50yrs...much as I'd love them to!

As I've no previous experience of this, thats why I was aksing if anyone else does. What's the going rate? 5yrs/10yrs?

In my experience, more like 2 max. Depends on the sector you work in I guess.

Unless it is an attractive sum of money versus how long you envisage being there, I would not touch it.

a big part of valuing it on your part is how long do you intend on staying there?
and are you already getting a competitive salary? or does the bonus help bridge the gap up to what you should be getting on the open market?
