Epson Stylus Photo R220 Printer Cartridges

Hi all,

I am after a really decent set of cartridges, but not keen on spending best part of £40-50 on the official ones!

I am VERY fussy as to the quality of printouts, and print mostly to CD's (in premium ink mode).

Can anyone recommend either a cheap set of originals (all 6 colours needed) or some excellent quality compats?

Cheers in advance

Oh and worth mentioning, I had 3 diff sets of HP Compats a long time ago, and each and every one of them were shockingly bad quality compared with the official ones...hence me being a bit dubious!

I normally get my Epson inks from the following company and only use compatibles as don't like paying the rip-off prices for Epson ones

Have had no problems with compatibles so far and been using for about 2 years

I live near the shop so luckily I save on postage costs

Cheers, the price of those seems VERY cheap which makes me a bit dubious! Have you used them for CD/DVD printing, and how do you find the colours last? Cheers

Have not been using that printer recently as I got the message saying that the parts have come to the end of their life so I thought it was knackered so I bought a Epson D78 to tide me over and after that a friend in work showed me how to get the printer working again so I have it as a spare

Printing on CD's / DVD's has been fine for me and not encountered any problems and inks seemed to last a while unlike the Epson D78 which seems to eat ink with just everyday printing

I buy everything direct from their shop and they have a good service for instance if you buy blank media and don't like it you can take them back for a refund on what you have not used with no questions asked even though you have opened the container and used a few discs

Few ways for postage

£4.99 - next working day courier
£4.45 - Royal mail standard parcel
£4.00 - royal mail recorded delivery
Free - collect from store

I presume the prices will go up depending on the weight and size of the parcel

Thanks for being so helpful, so i guess cheapest price about £9 delivered for 6 cartridges (still seems too cheap!!!) to the South East.

Btw, did you notice this website is a clone of Ebuyers? Naughty naughty! tut tut ;)

Have been using them for a few years for media and inks etc.... with no problems, good thing is I save on postage with living near so I go and collect

Never noticed as don't really look on the ebuyers site

Apparantly they are going to be stocking continious ink flow systems soon which will work out very cheap for you if you plan to do loads of printing, not sure on the price they are going to charge as they only had the ink refil bottles when I last went it

I've used the ProJet brand in my R220 and they appear to be as close to the originals as I've seen. I bought mine from a local pc shop but noticed that they are available at Bigmaggots. They are participating in the £10 off £30 Google Checkout promotion.
