bit of a joke if you can afford to go on holiday on benefits if you ask me....
THE HUKD community sincerely hopes you don't end up on ESAs in the future.

ESAs are far more rigorous a process and are pretty much ruling out the scammers. For the OPs sake we won't get into an argument of what exactly could be wrong for them to claim, its clearly reasonable. If you want to express your despisal of the benefits system, I suggest its aimed at least in a more appropriate place and a more suitable direction.

14 days you have to tell them I know someone who didn't and got called back after 3 days don't use bank card
#3
Going abroad for more than 4 weeks but less than a year. Tell your local Jobcentre Plus if you're going abroad for more than 4 weeks. You can carry on getting contribution-based ESA for up to 26 weeks if you're going abroad for medical treatment for yourself or your child.
#4
I believe it's four weeks. However, check with them too. It'll be noted.

cheers guys . so 28 days it is.

Just cause this person is on benefits doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to go on holiday , you don't know the situation to why he's claiming , could be sick or something else ,I hope you enjoy your holiday Op :)

ESA is paid to someone with an illness or disability that prevents them working. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be entitled to enjoy a holiday.

how about some who worked from 15yr old to 63yr old, then diagnosed untreatable illness - they paid into system all their working lives....

well I for one believe they deserve a holiday as much as anyone, even the people who may not have worked as much but are still unable to work through sickness...ie severe autism/ms/cancer etc.

how can people be so judgemental without knowing facts???

I know plenty of reprobates on facebook who claim esa and have nothing wrong with them not "rigorous"

Do you think someone on esa should have a 4 week hol, yes or no?

How am I jealous? I have been away to 8 countries this year, and HK + Munich in the next 3 months.. I just don't agree how on ESA you can afford a 4 week hol when most people who work have on average i would say a week away.

Circumstance dependant, yes:) If OPs family or friends live abroad or other arrangements from before their disability then they're only spending money on living expenses and flights. Either way, whatever people say most benefits are not enough to 'live' on, only survive. So if they have enough to go on holiday, good on them for saving and scrimping (lets think of those wasting their money on bad habits) enough to buy a flight.

Not saying this is the case, and hey, I too may be of the opinion that an individual may not be entitled to such luxuries if I knew the situation, but I don't.

I hope your businesses don't deal with compassion or people skills, your previous posts suggest not.

People with pain tend to not have enough vitamin d3 in their body since we have no sun in the country.

op,check the dwp website, the answers squirreled away,I'll pm you though if I can figure it out.
sun and heat are great for pain.

Can I just point out to the "how can you afford 4 weeks" crowd, it is sometimes cheaper to spend that time abroad, than it is in the UK.
Lots of canny retired people will book a long term apartment in Spain/Portugal for the winter, the weather is warmer and the food prices cheaper, it costs them less than staying in the UK and worrying about putting the heat on.
You know who and where to book, an apartment that costs £400 per week in the summer is £100 per MONTH in the winter, and I would point out flights shown on here yesterday for £7.50 to Spain.

Then there are other places, I spent 6 months in China in 2010, my biggest expense was paying my UK council tax of £134 per month, two of us were living on £100 per month all in.

It's not a handout it's an insurance policy we ALL PAY INTO

Do you even know why at ESA rates are?

Nothing stopping anyone putting a tiny sum aside for a holiday for all you know someone has listed them the money, or a relative just died, or they took out a loan etc etc.

Seriously stop reading the mail it's warping your brain
