You could look at just getting a foreign transaction fee free credit card, such as the Post Office one...

Revolut is a good card. Best possible exchange rates and no fees.

As above revolut you load it with pounds then you can use it any where in the world and the app on your phone updates instantly and tells you them amount in the local currency and the amount in pounds underneath. The exchange rate is higher than you can get at a foreign exchange place but it does fluctuate during the day.If you don't use all your money then just draw it out back in the UK using a normal ATM.

Revolut and/or Travelex Supercard.

Can't fault either of them. Customer service from Travelex is also excellent. I ended up blocking my card by accident in Sweden recently and quick 5min call and it was all sorted.

I use a Caxton FX card. Whenever I've used it in the past they've usually had a very good exchange rate. Don't know if others do or not, but you also don't get charged for using ATMs overseas when using the card.

Me too, it's easy to top up through internet banking, even when you are abroad. It is easy to use.

very interesting

just ordered a revolut card but expected delivery 3rd Oct, sadly I'm flying out on the 3rd and arriving at the airport on the 2nd so hopefully it arrives a bit early :) If not I am flying to spain on the 26th so it will be useful for that

I googled and if you use code MSE when registering you get £5 extra if you top up £500

Mine said it would be a few weeks but had it within 1, a nice little slide package too!

I prefer this over revolut only because I don't have to top up, it has my debit card on it and automatically takes payment.

ive just used Revolut round Asia for 3 weeks and I cannot praise it enough. I would really recommend it for any trips abroad, the best rates, no fees and you can transfer any funds left over straight to your bank.

I used Caxton fx last year but then I came across the Revolut card which offers better exchange rates and does not charge for withdrawals either.
