External Hard-Drive - Around £50.

Hi,

My laptop is starting to feel the force of my attempts to re-convert my music library for a new non-ipod MP3 player. So I'm in the market for an external desk-top hard-drive to take the pressure off. I'm looking for something around 250gb and over - the more the better, really and for something around £50 if that's realistic. I haven't used Google Checkout before, so if there are any deals that I could combine with that, that would work.

Many thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks - I've had a look and that 250gb Seagate is also on Ebuyer at a similar price to Dabs - does anyone know if Google Checkout will still work to take a £10 off the price at Ebuyer?

imortal, that's true but it is £6 P&P, so makes it £51.59. Maplin is FREE P&P over £35 or collect from local store if you have one.

Try your local Staples (if you have one) bought a Lacie 250GB from ours a few weeks ago for £35.00 (on offer) and their Iomega ones are always reduced, (think the 320GB are 49.00 atm) we also have a 250GB one of these (old style case) and it's been fine.

FYI: We bought a Freecom DVD/RW the other week from Tescos for £9.00 (in the 'look what we found at the back of the stock room' section) and it's build quality is cheap and nasty, don't know if their HDs are the same but....
