Rep will be given for any decent recommendations, advice or tips. Thanks.

Not under £50 but check out PC world have an amazing deal for a 1T external hard drive at £89.99 n there website can be delivered or reserved and collected in store oh and Quidco as well.

might not be what you are looking for as too much money but its the best I can find, other special offers at the moment are doing 500gb for £89.99.

Amazon have some good deals as do Tesco or try Dabs.com.

Good luck

Probably best going to either ebuyer.com or amazon.co.uk and looking at the reviews.

Here is one for £50 from ebuyer with good reviews

and another with 5 stars (£55), but more reviewers

He's looking for a portable one, all the ones suggested above are desktop ones which are significantly less portable.

I don't think there's much difference between brands, firewire is probably nice to have if your PC(s) have firewire ports but other than that I'd just pick whichever decent brand is cheapest at the moment.

I've got a LaCie mobile disk and I've not had any problems with it.

With scan, you'll only get the 'today only' price by clicking through the today only page. The items remain at their usual price if you go through the 'everyday' link. At about 12-1pm Monday, this item will be removed from today only price so get it before then if you want it at this price - or at least put it in your basket where it will remain at the TO price as long as you don't log-off / shut down the page
