I use this for craft projects.
Not used on fabric personally, but it says you can?

Simple PVA (woodworking glue) goes clear when dry but it's not a contact clue.

Get a glue gun with low an hot settings, use the high setting and hot clear glue sticks. Gives you a little bit of time to set up and sets in a 60-90 seconds. Stanley do a good gun with predictable flow rate.

I found Aleenes fabric glue is one of the best, this sample set has seen me through lots of problems. Dries see through.
