Pay the extra and get the FireTv mate. Sometimes things just aren't worth skimping on. FireTv will do you proud.

kodi is a tiny programme and works well on phones, tablets and the fire stick

A small programme with the capabilities of streaming 4K. It all depends what you want to get out of it.

For light use I agree the firestick is fine, but the fireTv is 4K compatible.

yeah ultimately god knows what addons he will be using, but for just kodi, light in resources.

Depends on which Beelink model your talking about. I have both the Beelink M18 http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_282313.html?wid=3 and the Beelink MiniMXIII http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_349813.html?wid=3 and they both p-i-s-s all over an amazon fire stick.
Amazon fire stick are slower and less powerful. You want something that has a minimum of 2GB RAM, with the stick you only get 1GB.

Go for a Q box. Very nippy things. Only downside is then led lights flash and that can get a little annoying. Can get with Amazon prime for around £8 more expensive than a fire stick

bit pricey but looks good just want it to run kodi and have good wifi coz the one I got m8s II has bad wifi.

I bought this from a recommendation from someone on here
android box

Arrived after a week and I can say, my firestick is now in the drawer never to be used again. This box is brilliant, the menus are quick to navigate on kodi and the main thing - it doesn't get so hot it switches off.
I too recommend this box

The wifi is good on the wetek . I had a sumvision x4 and it was good but i had to use zero caching on kodi to avoid buffering . I dont need that on the wetek but i do use that unblockr Service and add on to unblock certain add ons and streams .

U sure it's the wifi going slow? I thought that with the stick that the wifi signal was naf but it's sometimes the stream that u are trying to get? I've been using the box every night since Sunday and not had any issues with sports channels or film streams.
Obvious question but you have power cycled ur router ? Done a speed test with kodi? The usual suspects etc....

He wasn't trolling. Those 3 android boxes your referring to were they all 1GB/8GB rubbish with crappy chipsets that make a fire stick look good?

No he was trolling, there was nothing constructive in what he said. Your using the wrong box, no enquiry into what boxes i had used. Just an arrogant assumption that i had not known what to look for. Given the price, functionality and reliability in Fire stick I recommend it. It has on demand apps that helps when Kodi is slow to update locate uk soaps etc. But hey...

I use the stick too as does my other half, must say for streaming from exodus and phoenix etc it works flawlessly. Then you get all the built in extras.

For streaming addons through kodi I am 100% happy with the fire stick, never once had an issue.

yeah can decided between the 2 both around same price, been told the beelink is a official product and should get good support

I'll give you reliabilty but not functionality. M8S II is far more powerful than a stick and has full android 6 so no sideloading, full play store, external HDD support, bluetooth, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage etc etc. The supplied mouse is crap though so would need an airmouse (£8 ).

yeah I see what you mean about no sideloader and would concede that a full android device will give your greater access to apps etc. The purpose i used these boxes and continue to use the fire stick is watching shows and films. the firestick covers thos with Kodi and catch up apps. Under the original remit of does Kodi have any limitations on Fire stick i would say no based my my experience and feedback from others. However thegamer147 makes a good point about support as side loading on the fire stick means no support outside of forums...

Limitation of Kodi on a Firestick is audio/sound.

Do any of these boxes actually support HDMI-CEC? I'd like to be able to control Kodi with the remote, like I do on the Pi. I'm also interested in Beelink boxes. I'm waiting for the GT1 to go down in price :)
