You'll be hard pushed to find something under that price. It's summer time over there. Flights to other major cities will most likely be slightly cheaper. Why not fly direct to Brisbane? Or, perhaps fly to Cairns and hire a car to travel down? Also, looks alternative origin airports. You'll find that more stops/longer travel time will be cheaper.

Try emirates from birmingham via dubai, normally a bit cheaper than from london or manchester.

You know that would be over 1000 miles driving...

Anyway internal flights are pretty cheap so it would only be £50-100. Probably cheaper to fly to Sydney then get an internal flight to Brisbane or the cheaper Gold Coast airport.

You can do Emirates from Newcastle via dubai as well, I'm not sure if that's any cheaper.

Yeah, just throwing as many ideas to someone in need, as I can. The original post said flights to Sydney(before edited), so was suggesting an easier route.

Again, op, just try every permutation like the Newcastle - dubai -???? suggested, etc. Long layovers are always cheaper, so bear that in mind, if indeed cost is a major factor.

I've done many different flight paths to and from Australia, and the prices will differ.

Best of luck.

DialAFlight at £849 Heathrow - Brisbane. Good luck with search. My daughter is currently in Oz (Brisbane) 'finding herself' after Uni graduation... its expensive out there.

If you can fly out on 31 Jan returning on 7 Mar works out at £670 Thai airways from skyscanner. Hope that helps.

Good luck.

yeah thank you, I had noticed it is a lot cheaper at the end of January. But I would like to get out to be there for my sister as soon as possible. I think my only option is to pay over £1000

If you can get a flight cheaper flight to Sydney or Melbourne then an the across country flights are not too expensive and there are loads of them.
