Flights to Los Angeles for next year

First up hi all, joined recently and this is my first post, sorry it's a request but I'll keep my eyes open and see what I can offer too.:)

Anyway, I'm looking at taking the family to LA next year as I have a mate living over there. I'm not sure when to go yet, Easter time looks ok to me but probably not hot enough for my Mrs but flights for the Summer aren't online yet from what I can see.

Does anyone have any advice on whether booking early or later is best? What sites are good for searching? So far I've been looking on cheapflights.co.uk.

Also I should probably register for Quidco, are there any travel websites that use it? Expedia?

Thanks for any advice:thumbsup:

Generally (but not always) flights start off expensive when they first go on sale and then are very expensive in the last few weeks on sale. In between, the prices fluctuate randomly! You'd be best keeping your eyes open for offers throughout the year. Most airlines have sales from time to time.

Expedia and Opodo offer Quidco cashback and both have email newsletters so perhaps get yourself signed up so you will get info on sales?

And you're right about summer flights not being available yet. They usually go on sale about 10-11months in advance so probably by September / October you should be able to see flights for June / July. Easter might be a nice time to go though. LA has a horribly muggy / smoggy climate and the hotter it gets, the more smoggy it gets! It's not nice beach sunshine very often.

Sorry but I disagree, normally flights are cheaper when the seats first go on sale. When the cheaper seat classes sell out the price gets higher as you go up a class. The airlines do have seat sales some have a couple a year but they normally have date restrictions so no guarantee that when you want to travel will be included in the sale.

Fares will be available 10 -11 months in advance of when you want to travel
