I've received a text today telling me that tomorrow 4G is available in my area (seeing as I can hardly get 3G around here I'm doubtful about this, but still). Now. I'm currently on a legacy unlimited SIM only tarrif that I got back in the days when they had unlimited data (started in June 2010) and I do not want to lose the unlimited data, even if I do not use loads and loads of data each month.
The O2 website and text imply this will be free access on my existing tarrif (looks like it will be in the form of a 4G bolt on), but I'm not convinced that they aren't going to shift me to a limited data plan (probably 1GB a month).
Has anyone else had this offer in their area and already added the free 4G access on an old unlimited tarrif? If so are you still showing up as unlimited or are you now capped out at a set amount of data per month.
If they cap my data then it is technically not a free access as they are removing features from my existing. I'm interested to know if they are falsely advertising this free access or if it is genuinely free and I will retain my unlimited data.
