If you have internet access you can use Microsoft's online Office suite (note that you will need a Microsoft account in order to use)

Link to Excel online

Link to Microsoft online office suite

Or you can use Google's offerings (you will need a Google account in order to use).

Link to Google Sheets

Stay away from open office because it's not that supported compared to libre office. They are same program but there was a trouble a few years back so libre office was spun off. It's a brilliant office package. Spreadsheet. Word. Desktop publishing ect. For offline online then Google sheets is good but you need an Internet connection. If you use libre office remember to save as a. . Xls format if your forwarding to someone via email although I heard that windows was supporting the open documents formats now?

Not sure why you've been downvoted for saying that. OpenOffice was discontinued some five or six years ago, and LibreOffice has long since served as its replacement.

That's incorrect. It wasn't and still hasn't been discontinued, the newest version is less than a year old.

LibreOffice has had much more work done on it though, so it's definitely the one to go for as a home user.
