Free iTunes music?

What is the best way to find all the free music on iTunes? Should I use the app or the PC?

Also how do I go about this? I am a complete noob to iTunes and any Apple products.

I was using Deezer which I thought came with my EE contract but it ran out after a month. I want to be able to put music onto my phone so I am not using data when listening to it. I can obviously listen to radio stations but these will be streaming and using data.

So was just wondering what is the easiest way to find all the freebies on iTunes?

Cheers.

Why don't you check out some of the sites offering free music from new and sometimes established bands? There's plenty of good stuff to discover, listen to and download for free (and legally) out there.
Sites like NoiseTrade (http://www.noisetrade.com/) Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/) and Soundowl (http://soundowl.com/)

Why? Why would I buy music when artists give away their music for free for a short period of time? The odd tack here and there and sometimes full albums.

That is the equivalent to telling everyone to pay for apps when there are loads of free ones out there.

If I was into music and listened to music often then I would of course purchase it, but I don't and only play it when I am on my bike, hence I am looking to source some free tunes for my iPhone.

You're welcome ... NoiseTrade is especially good as you can select genres etc

Just looked at soundcloud and seems good. Anyway to sync music to your phone so it does not use my data allowance up?

You can download and install the soundcloud app for apple or android and run it off your phone https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/soundcloud/id336353151

Yeah I am running the app mate, but surely it gets the music from the internet so will use my data to stream it down to the iphone or am I missing the point? I really am new to Apple software.

It's going to use either your Internet or phone allowance no matter what you do. Are you on a limited Internet package? Some of the music on Soundcloud can be downloaded onto your computer, there's a lot of music on NoiseTrade you can download as well. If you're worried about constantly streaming music using up your allowance then find some stuff you like, download it and put it on your device (phone whatever).
Blinkbox Music is another good streaming service if your Internet/Phone allowance can take it

I am on 2gb mate, if I cycle everyday for a couple of hours it will soon eat into that.

I will look at downloading onto PC and then see if I can transfer it over.

Thanks for your help.

With such a low usage allowance you will need to download rather than stream ... good luck there's plenty of good free stuff on the sites I've told you about.

Still having a nightmare.

I have downloaded some music from noisetrade. It shows up in iTunes on my PC and I can play it through the iTunes software on my PC no problem, but the only song that shows up on my iPhone is the one I downloaded directly through iTunes.

I have heard in the past the Apple products were a nightmare to get music on unless you got it directly through iTunes. So how does everyone else get their other music to show on their phone?

Am I just being simple here or do I have to jailbreak it to play music not downloaded directly through iTunes?
