Hi Everyone

I am looking to buy a freeview recorder for my mums birthday and i was wondering what was the best model out there to get. Here are my findings so far.

I was looking in tesco for one and saw one for roughly 90 quid with a 250 gb and free 6 months setanta, which seems a bit pointless now since it is going bust.

I have seen the posts for the 50 quid freeview thompsons refurbished box from asda but with all the negative comments its getting i dont want to go there because it is for my mum and i dont want it break regularly.

So if anyone could help it would be much appreicated.

Looking to spend no more than 100 quid and looking for a good freeview recorder, preferable something real easy to record on as well.

Got the Thompson one from Tesco for my nan. It seems really easy to use (even for her lol) and you just ignore the free Setanta on the box.

Their prices are pretty cheap.

is it reliable though? i have heard such bad things like the saved data gets deleted off the hard drive.

Don't get me wrong! it isn't without it's flaws but for the price it's worth it.
all i've had is the unit freezing every now and then but it's not too bad just switch off at the wall and back on again.
The new ones have the latest firmware will all issues resolved.
