My freezer has gone beserk, it's only freezing the stuff in the bottom drawer, and gets worse as it goes up, the top (fourth) drawer is similar to fridge temperature.

It's a Hoover frost free fridge freezer, half fridge and half freezer, about 6ft tall.

About a week ago it lost all power, since then the fridge is working fine, only prob with freezer.

Any suggestions on what i should do before calling out an engineer!!!

best to call out an enigineer rather than trying to do something and making it worse. Like my dad once did. LOL.

Have you tried adjusting the temp knob? Perhaps it's stuck. Try turning it up and down again, see if it clicks when you turn it.

Ours frost free freezer used to do this. Twice a year it happened roughly....Hotpoint? I think..

We had to defrost the freezer completely, as the ice forms in the back of the freezer in blocks stopping the cold air to circulate.

Hence only the bottom section freezing.
Worth trying this first if you can find somewhere for your frozen items to go...

Hope this is of help to you...

Hope it works.

Save you some money, as engineers cost an arm and leg to just look at the thing.
Well they do here anyway.....

It might need regassing.

Similar thing happened to my sisters fridge freezer. She paid £25 to have it regassed and it's still working fine 3 years later.

If you phone a domestic engineer up and tell them whats happening a lot of them will give you free advice as to what it could be.
