Fridge/Freezer gone kaput!

AmandaRose Avatar

Hey Guys,

So upon returning home from a long weekend away, the fridgefreezer has gone up the spout, leaving me with a pool of water and five carrier bags of food that smells somewhat ripe.

Need to buy a new one asap, and obviously, when looking for the best deals, my first stop is here...

Anyone seen any bargains in this area lately?

Answering at least one question out of the sticky (http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2) posted in this section would give us an idea of what your after :)

Do some of your own research and legwork before asking.
-What item exactly are you looking for?
-Where do you want to buy (online, retail store)?
-Where are you? (for retail store purchases)
-What is the regular price? (approx.)

Sorry, I've also spent the whole night coughing and have to admit my brain isn't really functioning.

I'm not fussy about make etc, it just needs to be cheap (or at least reduced in price if it is an expensive brand)! I split up with my husband three months ago and hence money is...well, non-existant really. Never rains, but it pours, eh?

I just need a frige freezer asap (having two kids, being even fridgeless is a nightmare. No milk etc). I've not got family nearby and just figured some of you may have seen a sale recently somewhere. I don't drive so it'll need delivery. And the old one taking away... and actually, at this point, I just feel like crying and going back to bed and forgetting it's even happened.

1. try this thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20010&highlight=fridge+freezer for one from Curry's for £149.95 (not sure if it includes delivery but read through and you'll find out)

or

2. http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?fh_search=fridge+freezer&zone=all&fh_sort_by=_price_rrp_min&fh_sort_order=1&ts=1157037966367&fh_start_index=100&ts=1157037974460&ts=1157037981504&ts=1157037993940&ts=1157038006361 for a Hotpoint one from B&Q for £230 reduced from £349. Again you'd have to check the delivery

or

3. I just got one from B&Q in store for £179.99 plus £20 for a weekend delivery. I think it's by a company called Baumatic (or something similar).

Hope this helps :)

And this http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...ory_oid=-25911 for around £180 delivered.

Don't forget to do the usual hunt around the forums for discounted delivery plus check Quidco - 2% cashback for this one i think!

There is no need to be sorry at all - we want to help but just needed to know in which direction to look :)

And as lzaltash said theres no need to cry... look at it this way, things can only get better!!

Oh ive found a good one for you :D

Choose the Scrap and install charge.

Then use vouchers...

PRFREEDEL = Free Delivery - Saves £19.99
PERK20 = £20 off £200 (Makes the Install and Scrap Free)

So to recap...

A named make (LG) with £50 off already and saving £40 using vouchers. :)

An unlike lzaltash suggestion (sorry to pick holes :() this one is rated A for Energy so will be cheap to run and has a big freezer (as with kids you can never have enough space in there!)

EDIT: Opps forgot to put total cost... £199 inc Del and Scrap of old and Install :)

Also if you go through Quidco could save an extra £4.

Pick holes as much as you like – the point is to get the best deal out of them, the big companies for us, the consumers

Thought she might appreciate a starting point rather than the first comment you posted - as if coming back to a kitchen full of rotting food isn't bad enough!

Thanks so much Izaltash... some of them are out of stock but it's at least got me started.

Ah, and meanwhile, gary has got on the case! lol More for me to look at.

Sorry for being slightly melodramatic; safe to say all your help is making me feel perkier :)

That's a shame - in my area its in stock. But then i dont think the Fridge breaking Fairy has visited Essex yet? :D

It might be woth speaking to your local store as it has been known for them to match the web price (even with voucher codes).
