Hi

We have a small business with about 8 vehicles we use SHELL cards at the moment that can be used at ESSO as well.

Our financial Director has worked out we would have saved £1030.00 last year if we had used:

http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk/

Does anyone have feed back positive or negative of this company 'onroute fuel card'?

thanks

check your directors work history etc if hes the boss he should know what hes doing, I use multiple fleet cards for various companies all the time , if youve only got 8 vehicles think about getting a fuel tank onsite at your premises (secured tank) ive never heard of onroute I use other fuel suppliers

Thanks for reply.
I did look into alternative fuel cards last year as we were not tied to Shell and ESSO.
Seeing the Morrison and ASDA savings on this site.
I was put off by a large company that started charging a montly fee to customers.
I guess it may be a case of keeping an eye on http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk/ to make sure that they dont change their T&C down the road (sorry!)

Our Directors work history is not in question, she is a credit to the company and has worked her way up from PA / telephonist to Director in 11 years.
The only question I have is how the £1030.00 saving was calculated.
Having our own fuel tank sounds ideal but in practice due to our unit and location would not be practical especially with the Heath and Safety implications http://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/store-use-petrol-workplace.htm
and
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2009/1348/contents/made

nb
anyone reading this and is thinking about stocking up please read the 30 Litre limithttp://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/petrol-storage-club-association.htm

you have a fleet of petrol vehicles?
#6
The more you use fuel cards the more the price goes up. Have a few and rotate usage. When you stop using one their price will come down. Keep monitoring for best prices.

One petrol car all the other vehicles are diesel.
#8
those links you pointed out refer to petrol , you can get plenty of self contained diesel tanks that are legal to use on most sites

Yes I thought along those lines but http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk/ dont appear to charge monthly a fee.
So if Morrisons are £1.09 and SHELL are £1.16 with a Morrisons nearby say 70 Litres could save £4.90 a vehicle x 8 £19.60 a week based on 30mpg @ 12,000 miles a year average or saving £1,019.20 a year
Tesco or Morrisons need to be near staff home / daily route.

They are building one at Chester Gates we also have one in Liverpool so 'on route' for most staff do you know how much Costco charge for diesel per Litre at the moment?
Also how do you pay? would all staff need a debit card and individual Costco card (we have two Costco cards at the moment), or do Costco offer their own charge card?
Bank of Scotland charge us £100 a year for a debit card so x 7 £700 for extra cards- we have one BOS card.
thanks

I use a debit card or American express card.
it's currently 108.9 diesel at Oldham.
it's good fuel too. equvilant to shell v max
#13
you need 1 costco card and a debit card just get your own staff to get the cards from each other to fuel up, fuel pumps are card only and automated. they close at 21:30 hours for fuel , its about 5p per litre less than supermarket prices

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
I wouldn't want staff to use their own debit card so 7 x £100 for extra Bank of Scotland debit cards plus extra Costco cards http://warehouses.costco.co.uk/terms/ would eat into the saving?

Also http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk/ say they:
• reduce admin costs with one HRMC approved invoice
• manage your budgets with detailed reports

.no , either get one person to use one card to fill all the vehicles up or get the drivers to use just the one costco card and a company debit card, loyds dont charge me for using their debit card on my business account

Hi
A storage tank is not viable unfortunately due to our business unit.
I didn't realise diesel has different regs to petrol.
#19
yes diesel is far less combustible hence easier to handle
#20
you can get small tanks btw

Hi
Well spotted.
Sorry typo from their site
http://i68.tinypic.com/34y5guq.png
http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk should be HMRC
in fact if they get that wrong its not a good sign.

Yes I copy and pasted it from their site.
Will phone them in the morning about their typo error.
Dont see any negatives so will give them a try with a view to keep an eye that they dont start charging a monthly fee or per transaction sucharge in the future as happened with http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4434939

Yes its not up to me to correct them on their typo.
Keyfuels only have two sites on the Wirral - North.
We have a few Morrison and Tescos dotted around that http://www.onroutefuelcard.co.uk/ cover.
BP are 113.9
Morrisons are 109.9 - Tesco also 109.9
so a 4p per litre saving on BP https://www.petrolprices.com
thanks for advice.

Hi
I got things slightly wrong they dont gaurantee to beat the cheapest price ie Supermarkets, sorry about my misunderstanding.
It is the supermarket prices that are difficult for them to beat.
on route price for ALL their stations please see website for list of the affiliated fuel stations.

Last week:
• 109.5 per L for diesel
this week:
• 110.0 per L for diesel
That is at ALL stations that are on the onroute website.

hope this helps

Hi
We have Costco Liverpool and Costco Chester Gates that will open in 2017
The problem is all staff would have to have debit cards and at present Bank of Scotland charge us a £100 annual fee per card.
Would be interested though what Diesel at Costco is this week.
Also savings are based on Diesel for 'on route' not so good for Petrol.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Staff have vans for work and drive them home (not used for personal use) so each van is looked after by individual members of staff.
thanks

Hi
Business is Wirral based, but we cover 4 counties.
Chester Gates Costco fuel station opening 2017, but its a little bit out of the way for some staff.

regards key fuels, didn't you say wirral only had 2 sites? my search shows 10 wirral sites

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Yes well covered on the Wirral by key fuels, I think it was my mention of two Costco stations nearby that caused confusion.
On routes does seem 'to good to be true' but we are going ahead and hope that things work out long term and we save as much as possible on diesel, they have promised 8 cards within 7 days of 'e form' being completed- so from today.
Will update as things progress.
Thanks
