How about this one the Samsung le40f86bdx

Avforums seem to regard this tv as the best full hdtv out at the moment.

this is the one im going to get. Its only just been released so the cheapest price is about £1,050 from BT shop.

This is the tv I'm looking to buy, just waiting for it to be available for price match at john lewis!

Hope this helps

Chris

P.S It has a touch sensitive on/of switch!

Dixons do the LE40M86BD (i.e. same model with M instead of F and without X) for £860.17 + free delivery. Plus you can also get quidco @ 4% or if you have an egg card 5%, which should bring the price down to around £825.76 or £817.16 before any vouchers are added (and I haven't checked, but there's usually some floating around here. I'll leave that to you!).

I don't know if there's any difference between this model and Chris's recommendation, although I do know that Dixons and Samsung have a relationship where Samsung supply them with unique product codes so that they don't have to pricematch other retailers, so I dunno if it's that.

Check on avforums for more details.

The one i posted is the newer model with a lot of improvements over the older one (like judder free playback at 24) the older model LE40M86BD is known for its problems (A quick search on avforums will show you a few of the problems.)
Some people haven't had any problems wih the older one, but with anything its worth doing your research.

Remember that if you can get John Lewis to price match you will receive a free 5 year warrenty

Thanks for the clarification on that one.

It was too busy/lazy to do a full search, but cheers.
