yes it does, the message says my device doesn't support Bluetooth Smart.
Righto, it requires Bluetooth LE support, check this out to see if your Fire is supported:

But it looks like the OS needs to be upgraded if it is supported.
I got 2 for my kids and I've already changed the batteries twice. We got them on Christmas.
same with me not fair i wish it would connect more than one device. the device it works on is my sisters and shes in whales
I had difficulty connecting a Furby that was connected on the device before, through the Furby Connect app. I had gone through the routine of changing the Furby's batteries, hitting the reset button, messing with his antenna, and even looking up videos on how to repair internal wiring. Before getting out my tools, I looked to reinstall the app, but noticed there was a Bluetooth toggle switch when selecting the app in the systems menu. I toggled it on and tested it right away...he connected as quickly as he had out of the box.
iPads were updated and the app permission to use Bluetooth on the device were turned off for most apps already installed. This included the Furby Connect app. A simple toggle is all it takes.
I don't know why is it, but probably the old application does not communicate correctly by the newer bluetooth. But you only need to connect once through that tool and then the old application will work as well.
