anyone had similar issue it was voda phone unlocked so I guess no warranty as I unlocked it. any suggestions please as if my.Mrs don't get her fb running again I'll go crazy

unlocking it shouldn't break the warranty although updating at 17% was crazy. Try the warranty repair but don't tell them it was at 17% when you updated. It just failed to update.

have a look online for forums with possible solutions.

Turn off the device.Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons on the back of the device. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.

or just hide from the mrs lol

I tried holding for 30 sec with only power button. or with down and vol up separately. upon searching forums dozens of ppl complaining their phone bricked after 9/10 month and same is this. the Voda guy mentioned only they can provide warranty on these and if I get it unlocked they won't honour warranty I still sent the email to lg just left it on charge now

You need to have a lot of battery life before updating, that's your problem right there.

I suffered awhile back with the bootloop and it wouldn't turn off this thread especially at the end might help it talks about all different issues with this phone

just managed to restart it
the battery now showing at 46% as it was on charge while updating. heres what I did after reading on a forum
1/ take battery sim and memory card out
2/ hold power for 30 sec
3/ put just battery to restart
if works add sim n memory card

thanks everyone

Lucky you just remember when you update make sure you have a full battery.Meanwhile if you havnt had the bootloop issue yet make sure you do full backups regularly.

it didn't update notification still there but I'll give it a miss.

don't tell them you updated at 17% and don't tell them you unlocked the phone. I bought a smart ultra 6, unlocked it off eBay, didn't like it and gave it back.
