Please help. I want to buy one of those gadgets tat holds hundreds/thousands of books. I have no idea where to look and can't remember what it is called. Any good ideas or deals. What's the best one to buy. I don't need the biggest one... a few dozen boks would be fine. How do you get books on it...how much? etc.

Thanks..sorry for being so vague but I just know you lot will know what I am on about...lol.

It's the Sony e-book reader. Available from Sony store or instore at waterstones for £199

http://www.sony.co.uk/hub/reader-ebook

How does it work?

Reader doesn’t have to replace your traditional books - it’s just a new way of enjoying reading. With Reader you can carry far more books with you wherever you go, so whatever mood takes you you’ll have a book that fits it. And using Reader couldn’t be simpler:

1. When you buy a Reader, install the supplied software on your computer, connect Reader to it with the cable provided and voila! Create and manage your eBook library on your PC and transfer your eBooks to Reader exactly like you do with your music on your mp3 player.

2. Need a new book? Choose from thousands of titles available from waterstones.com the online store of Britain's best-loved bookseller. Simply buy the ones you want and import them into your PC’s Reader library.

3. Store up to 160 books at a time on your Reader. If you’re a real bookworm add to your collection and store thousands more using a Sony Memory Stick Duo™ or SD memory card.

4. Bookmark pages or magnify text on a page; Reader will also remember where you last left off – even if you don’t.

5. It’s slim and light so you can take it with you wherever you go and the long battery life means you can enjoy nearly 7000 page turns without recharging – that’s like reading War and Peace five times over.

Reader is available now for £199 including 100 classic eBooks, direct from the Sony Style online store. Or you can buy Reader at your local Sony Centre and selected Waterstone’s bookshops.

The various dedicated readers have their advantages, but you might want to consider using a pda or smart phone instead.
I have a pda/phone, you can install free software that will let you read most of the e-book formats, take a look here for examples of free e-books available.
This way you only have to carry one gadget around, the disadvantage is the device needs charging more regularly, but I find that doing a charge overnight fits in with my routine.
