I'm looking to play WWII gaems, team fortress, etc and would like to be able to play against others online.

Which should I buy?

Thanks for your help!

xbox 360 without doubt,

straight away pick up call of duty 2 + 3 (about 20 quid for both)
Pre order brothers in arms (using quidco 5 quid off voucher and reward points scheme at game, that'll cost 30 after points and cashback)

whilst you are online at GAME get halo 13 month subscription for 29 pounds,
once again use the 5 pounds off voucher but in 2 seperate transactions.

Buy the xbox 360 for 250 with 2 games, many deals about, wilkinson have the xbox 360 for 200 quid today (online)

you will then be ready to play some quality games online,

If you need more help just ask.

Def get a xbox 360 though

get 360 or ps3. check out the library. if you are also looking to watch blu-ray movies and play games then get ps3. ps3 has free online and it is also a multimedia centre.
if you just want to play ww2 games and online get a 360. but you have to pay for online which is annoying.

360 all the way

Definitely buy COD4 with it, it is superb

Cheers. I take it that you always have to pay if you want to game online or are there any consoles which can use a wifi connection?
I'm not bothered about blueray.

You have to pay about £35 a year to play online with the xbox 360, and you need to purchase a separate WiFi adapter (which are expensive).
The PS3 has free online play and built-in WiFi, but I prefer the 360's online service (even with the price)

360 and PS3 are around the same price now, xbox will probably be about £50 less expensive looking at the ASDA deal. Just look at which console has the better exclusives out or coming out for you. PS3 has Tekken 6, Killzone 2, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII and more exclusive and timed exclusives coming out and I'm not sure about what 360 exclusives are still to come out but I recommend you check a few games sites and wikipedia for lists of exlcusive games to each console and use this information to base your decision because when Playstation Home comes out early next year the PS3 and 360 will have round about the same quality of online service.

Also if you want those snes game, make sure you check out the Wiis online games catalgoue because Nintendo have put a lot of NES, SNES and N64 games onto the Wii store and you can download games for about £5 each onto your Wii and play them from the Wii.

Seriously the PS3's online service is sooooo basic. Xbox Live (the 360's online service) is absolutely SUPERB. It's so easy to chat to friends, send messages join each other's games. Doing that on PS3 is such a pain in the ****, I just don't bother with it.

The PS3 will be good one day, but at the moment the only thing it has over the 360 is BluRay (and not many people care about it as upscaled DVDs - the 360 and PS3 upscale DVDs - look plenty good enough), and that the machine is more reliable and looks nicer.

That's it. The 360 has MUCH better games, a better pad, a better online service and is cheaper.

Not a tough decision to be honest.

if u need wifi then thats gonna cost u 40 pounds for the 360.so if u buy wifi thats already reached the ps3s price which includes wifi. as for games. the 360 has alot of old games which u might like. but the ps3 offers alot more and it will be cheaper if you think about it. free online which is basic online and as long as you can play with people whats the problem? do you really need to pay 40 pounds for online just so you can comuniate better?

ill leave it for you to decide. take a look at the catalogue of games and choose which one suits you.

I got a 360 a while back before the cheaper PS3s appeared. Now I have been kindly given £250 in high street vouchers with nothing to spend them on so Im considering a PS3 but this will marginalise my Xbox...... Oh the irony. The only advice I can give is that they are both worthy of the money and all that seperates them on my view is the exclusive games, have a look at what games are exclusivly available on each one and make your decision from that.

Personally Gran Turismo 5 is not something I will not own so I guess I know what the High street vouchers will be used on

At the moment the 360s online service is better but I personally don't think the two online services can be judged until Playstation Home comes out at about March next year. Home looks like it will be excellent and could even lead to the PS3s online service not only being free but also better. So for the next 5 months or so ther 360 has the best service, but after that I'm not so sure.
