Garden Lighting

Just had a bbq today in our very long communal garden. There is no power at the end of the garden where the bbq area is so it gets pretty dark there. Anybody have some recommendations for the best rechargeable lighting which we can use next time around as get power to the end of the garden looks too difficult.

The Instores or Poundstretcher have some solar power lights £7 .99

Or there is a selection in littlewoods direct
I'd avoid solar lights as they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot, they only give off a glow, not light as such, we've had two different lots so we should know!! I think a proper lights are the only way to go, even if you just run an extension lead out there when you need them.
Problem is I am over 50m away from the house so I was looking at some form of lighting which I could charge up and bring down there. There are a lot of lanterns around on Ebay but it's hard to know if any are decent.
