You do know that Prestwick is about 40 miles from Glasgow? There is a half hourly train service right from the airport to Glasgow though, but its another hour onto your journey. You can fly BMI Baby to Glasgow Airport (the one in Glasgow lol) from Heathrow for £115.

Sorry if you know all this already!

I'm going to go Glasgow and not Prestwick, thats what I've decided now ( been round in circles ) but I did consider Prestwick cos train nearby.
I think I'm sorted out now,I've got to take convience over costs in a way too cos travelling on my own.

I'd go with Easyjet to Glasgow International as you're only 15-20 minutes into the city centre on the bus (think it's the 905) to Buchanan Bus Station which you can get right outside the main terminal building. Avoid the white renfrewshire taxis as they're a complete rip-off, thay charge £20 to get into the city. If you need to get a taxi then use Private Hire Taxis on 0141 774 3000, they will charge you about £12-14 into the city centre. They usually have at least one taxi out at the airport in one of the car-parks where you can meet them, basically out of the terminal building, turn left and keep walking, they'll tell you which car park to walk to.

The bus is pretty good because if the traffic on the M8 is bad then they take a different (faster) route into town. It's about £4 or so for a single journey and takes you right into the city centre, if you don't want to go as far as Buchanan Bus Station you can get off near Hope Street which is good for Glasgow Central train station and the surrounding area.

Hope you enjoy your stay up here!
