I contacted GearBest and they ask me to pay $300 to resend a phone that I never received.
I paid using my card, so I can't ask paypal to refund.
It seems to me that I am not the only one that has had this issue with this company.
Beware and avoid Gearbest at all costs, it's a complete roll of the dice on your order.
Gearbest sucks.

Google "Gearbest warning" and see all the warnings......even you tube has them!

Chargeback as you never received the item, it's not your problem but the credit card company.
#3
as the item was never received, ask for a refund as it's not with you.
#4
Call the card issuing bank and tell them that you have not received the goods that you have paid for.

Also, if you checked out using the Paypal checkout system when entering your debit/credit card details you should still be eligible for Paypal protection. Assuming that you do not have an actual Paypal account, go to Paypal.com, click login, then "Having trouble logging in?" and finally enter the email address that you used when paying for your purchase.

And this is why you shouldn't order a damn thing from these cowboys..

This man is right - the procedure is slightly different if you paid by debit card than credit card. Either way read this clicky link:-

It beats me why folks insist on buying from Chinese sellers to save a few quid oO . No EU warranty , no feasible way of returning if a problem and now a possibility it won't ever get delivered . I buy stuff from china (golf tees , cheap cycle alarms etc ) , but as a rule of thumb if you can't afford the gamble - Don't ! I'm happy to lose £10 but wouldn't consider donating £300 to Gearbest or similar .

+1 For why people would buy from any place like this to save a few quid even a hundred pounds would not get me interested.

Gearbest orders can take 6+ weeks to arrive. Some seem to go through France and get that yellow sticker on saying it is not included in the EU postal agreement. I think that's where some get held up for a few weeks. Unless you ordered 1st March Its still could come.. It's a worry though.

Had phones, Wi-Fi cameras and fitness trackers from gear best and banggood no problem myself

Did you pay for the shipping insurance and tracking? Gearbest do explicitly warn you:
For a smooth delivery and peace of mind, we strongly recommend that customers purchase shipping insurance during the checkout. In the event that your package has a shipping issue, Gearbest will send you a replacement package free of charge. If the item is no longer in stock, we will offer you a refund option.

Any orders that do not have shipping insurance will not be the responibility of Gearbest and the customer takes full liability for their package during the shipping process.

It's one thing if Gearbest are ignoring their own terms and conditions, it's quite another if they are honouring their contract but you were expecting them to do more.

When buying from an unfamiliar culture you should only expect them to do what they say they will and no more. If you're not happy with that level of service then you shouldn't be buying from them.

I've only ever had one thing from china via amazon market place. The seller give me a non working tracking number, so I told amazon and there refunded me within 2 days. A few weeks later the package arrived marked from banggood. I never did get charged.

My cheapo Chinese golf tees and other plastic stuff (£1,98 free P&P etc) all seem to arrive in 3-4 weeks via the slow boat . Would have thought pricier stuff that mugs buy would be faster ?
#15
I bought some cycle lights from gear best but they never arrived, PayPal refunded me in the , never again from them. I try not to spend too much on Chinese sellers due to the hassle involved if things go wrong...

I had this happen to me, i questioned how they knew it had gone missing as i hadn't contacted them so if they knew it was missing then they must know at what point it got lost, they asked me to pay more money to resend i refused and said i would tell everyone on hduk to avoid and they said as a gesture of goodwill they would resend free, they did and it arrived tracked in 14 days by yodel, i only ever buy items at a cost i would be happy to loose and i suggest everyone does the same as there seems to be some items getting lost before anyone has informed them and until we are guaranteed delivery at no loss buy you expensive items elsewhere.

why is it funny? Gearbest are listed kn hukd very often in fact i can see a moto x currently in the mobile section.
It is a risk to order from china as refunds returns or faults mean you are stuck but sometimes its a good way for people to buy different phones the want to try apart from the usual apple/samsung/LG. If you know what you are signing up for its not that bad.

i purchased a meizu mx4pro for a little over £100 over a year ago and it worked out ok.

Friend ordered a xiaomi phone from them, it's suspected to be fake I haven't seen it yet.
All Gearbest have offered via PayPal dispute is 5% refund! For a (probable) fake!

Personally I don't know why they're allowed to be on here when they don't even attempt to offer the same standards as you would expect from any UK/ EU/ US/ etc. retailer or even places like eBay (based on peoples' past experiences as well as their own t&c's). You get more protection buying from a random eBay seller with zero feedback. Yes you can say buyer beware, which is fair enough - but if retailers are going to be 'banned' (and they are), I can't see how this one isn't.
#23
If you are covered by selecting insured delivery why is this not incorperated in gearbests price on the dearer items automatically.

Are you UK-based? If so, did you pay with UK-issued debit card or UK-issued credit card?

Gearbest offer huge amounts of commission - as much as 8%, same with DX and banggood. Thats the only reason they're still allowed. If you post a deal with a new merchant it gets taken down until the powers that be contact said merchant and work out what rate they'll get paid at. If they don't pay commission, it won't appear on here.

Ordering a phone from GB for 139.99 USD, on 5 March, W1703050950246501, shipped after 2 days.
Item lost in transit, after more than 60 days GB doesn't want to refund it more than 60usd, because not choosing insurance at checkout...
Now escalating to PayPal.
Their practices are outrageous...

Just ordered a Xiaomi 5S, came with an empty box ! Takes them forever to reply. They ask for the outer package which i've binned already. They make you feel you are the bad guys. Still in conversation with them to try to get my money back or at least the phone and not an empty box ! ! ! !

It's ridiculous, avoid them at all COST ! ! ! !

Dealing with a guy called Halen.

Opened a paypal dispute as soon as possible.

It's a joke to be spending them with them
