That was the original plan, but I just don't have the time so would prefer a pre-made hamper

go to the supermarket
Find a cardboard box - shred a bit of paper - next time you go to the supermarket (or order on line ) just get stuff . Who wants posh chutney and brands you've never heard of . You'll get loads for £50 -with a hamper you'll be lucky to get £15 value for £50.

Bhs have hampers. Ok value if you get them when they are on the 1/2 sale, otherwise I'd give them a miss

the Thornton's one on HUKD now at £20 with code rather than original £50.

Costco had some really good ones ranging from £20 to £400i think it was!

John Lewis have hampers filled with jam, shortbread etc in store. Here's a link to their website, where there's a bigger range:

Dobbies garden centre had some lovely ones if there's one near you. There's all different types - your usual jam & biscuits or pate or chilli sauce themed ones.

If you haven't ordered from one of the large Supermarkets online, you might get a discount code for £10 - £20 from a £60 shop i.e. Tesco's. Then pick a good quality Sparkling Wine / Champagne / and or Red Wine, Biscuits (usually Shortbread), Coffee & Tea, Jams & Conserves, Christmas Pudding, Cake and Log, etc. Depending on when you giving the Hamper it might be possible to include fresh fruit, otherwise tinned or dried is a possibility. Takes roughly an hour to compile and order from the list but it's definitely understandable that working people (that includes housewives and mothers!!!!) haven't got any spare time. Also if you do order online someone might be able to give you specific suggestions on brands.

Why not get Boots' £29 give away on Friday. That would certainly go down well with the female half, and if she's happy...8)
