Budapest is great. Heroes Square is impressive. The underground is very old, but good fun to use.

When we arrived the dude that ran the hostel said there are 3 things you should never do in Budapest.

1) get in a taxi you haven't booked via phone regardless of how good it looks or whether it appears at a "rank".
2) Go to a strip club. There are a handful of respectable ones but his advice was don't bother.
3) wee in the street (goes without saying)

Couple of lads googled a "safe" strip club and decided they wanted to go there at 2am. Got in a taxi and said "take us to this strip club". Taxi driver took them to a strip club. Turns out it wasn't the one they wanted. Ten mins in they got frogmarched to a cash point by 3 toughies and robbed of £1000 each (not sure why the bank didn't stop this)

Two against three, surely it was worth a go rather than lose the cash?

We were warned about girls trying to get you to go into bars with them, similar to the above.

I love Budapest.
Perhaps go to a spa or take the funicular to the Castle District.

Book a walking tour with a company called Budapest Underguides. They took us to some great bars.

Is it a lads trip or are you going with ladies?! Might change what's recommended!

We found an open air pool/spa thing with a huge pool and 38 degrees pool too. Never seen so many fit girls in bikinis in my whole life.

It's me and the gf, we have 3 day tickets to F1 but I think we'll skip Friday and just go to qualifying on Satudar and the race on Sunday so that leaves Thursday and Friday for sightseeing..

Ah most of my suggestions were stag do related - shooting a Magnum was surprisingly fun! There are the castles and spas as previously mentioned. Every other taxi was trying to get us to dodgy strip clubs but you probably won't have the same problems! The castle on the hill had pretty spectacular views - couldn't tell you the name of it though!

This is the spa. Quality place and dirt cheap.

As some of the above mentioned, beware of taxis. Try the river cruise, beautiful city.
